A dilapidated 1950s printing house in the famous Marais quarter has been given a new lease of life as the headquarters of PCA / Philippe Chiambaretta Architecte.
The old building was partially dismantled, but the main structural elements remained: for example, the gable roof still defines the appearance, and the ramps, once used to transport printed materials, became stairs.
A new two-story space is formed around an open patio with wooden decking, where tables and small trees are placed. Continuous glazing fills the interior with light, while black window frames and façade panels accentuate the whiteness of the interior.
The architects' perception of the importance of transparency and communication in the process of work was embodied in large open spaces, where a variety of "private" areas have been preserved - a library and several meeting rooms. This principle helps to create a favorable atmosphere both for teamwork on projects and for the necessary privacy and concentration.
