The "veiled" building designed by the Berlin bureau ludloff ludloff + Architekten serves as a transition from the multi-colored and multi-tiered warehouse of the furniture company Sedus Stoll to the low and dim development of the neighboring village. The simple sculptural form and white color of the building contrasts with both the extravagant warehouse and the pastoral farmhouses.

Facades do not always look like open faces, sometimes they hide something. For example, under certain lighting conditions, this facade from a massive "stone" block suddenly turns into an unexpectedly light, airy pavilion … And sometimes the "dress" of the facade made of white fiberglass resembles frosted glass.

The glass fabric is stretched over 12-meter steel frames using specially designed fasteners and adapters.

The design responds flexibly to temperature fluctuations so that the membrane is always stretched in the same way. Two levels of translucent trapezoidal screens create relief and provide a play of light and shade. Windows can be closed with screens made in the same design.

From the outside or from the inside, the envelope “filters out” reality, imparting soft blurred outlines to objects.

The translucent façade has a positive effect on the energy balance of the building, providing optimal ventilation and sun protection.
