The competition is held for the second time by a group of sites 360.ru and has a two-stage selection system. Initially, 100 works in each nomination are selected by Internet voting, then the winners are determined by a jury consisting of chief editors of international interior magazines. The winner of the main nomination "Best Apartment Design" receives a car as an award. This time the prize was a Citroen DS5, provided by the competition sponsor - the manufacturer. It was received by Philip Tangalychev and Daria Kasatskaya for redesigning an apartment in Moscow, having bypassed another 165 applicants. The former communal apartment has turned into a spacious, loft-like dwelling with exposed brick walls, oak ceilings, designer furniture and a red cube with a built-in kitchen in the middle.
It is easy to see that this apartment is even more Suprematist than the winner of the next nomination - "The Best Living Room Interior", a living room called "Moscow Suprematism", awarded with a certificate for the purchase of furniture. It is unlikely that Malevich would have approved the complex texture of a wooden parallelepiped, which serves as a frame for a giant plasma, or the bourgeois pleasantness of frosted glass. However, the trend is obvious: awards are given for laconicism revolving around one bright accent. Achromatic colors combined with rich textures (wood, brick, leather), simple forms and "truth" of an open structure are popular: all three interiors, awarded in the Creative Office nomination, modestly display the ceiling communications of former industrial premises.
