On December 5, the ARTPLAY Design Center hosted the largest thematic event in the world of the architectural community - the premiere of the best collections from leading brands of ceramic tiles and mosaics. Traditionally, the celebration was attended by over 2,000 guests, including leading architects and designers, European partners and close friends of the company, representatives of central architectural studios, development and construction companies in Moscow, editors of interior publications.
The program of the evening included interactive shows, such as a march of drummers, a fashion show by outrageous guru Hayk Simonyan, an acrobatic sketch of a gymnast on canvases, as well as a performance by the Gorod 312 group. Taranda.
A large-scale exposition of novelties in the field of ceramic tiles, mosaics, stone and sanitary ware was held from 5 to 10 December in the ARTPLAY exhibition hall. Lectures by famous architects were held within the framework of the exhibition. The permanent trendsetter RIM.ru, together with the ARTPLAY Design Center, held a show of selected models from the professional exhibition Cersaie (Italy, Bologna) with the participation of representatives of leading manufacturing factories such as Graniti Fiandre, Provenza, Revigres, Petra Antiqua, Décor Marmi and others.
On the final day of the exhibition, a press breakfast with the American architect Robert Dawson was initiated in the lecture hall; during the breakfast, the invited journalists had the opportunity to interview the designer Ceramica Bardelli and talk to him personally about his conceptual design solutions on the ceramic surface.
Robert Dawson was born in New York but spent most of his childhood in Geneva. Today he lives and works in London, where he founded his studio "Aesthetic Sabotage". He received his Master of Arts with a specialization in ceramics from the Royal College of Art. Robert's creative works are characterized by the theme of "sketchiness and alternation".
The central topic of discussion at the meeting with the designer was the latest collections created exclusively for Ceramica Bardelli, each of which is based on the legends and myths of the ancient world.
Collection: Blue Willow & Ruby Willow
It is difficult to truly appreciate this collection without knowing its history. According to legend, the pattern was created at the end of the eighteenth century by a famous potter. The main characters are a rich Chinese mandarin and his beautiful daughter, who fell in love with an ordinary employee. The father, disregarding the arguments, intends to marry her to the duke and appoint a wedding for the day when the buds will fall from the willow branches. However, on the eve of the wedding, the poor servant kidnaps the bride and takes them on a ship to a distant island, where they live happily until the day they are discovered by the duke. The gods save the lovers from imminent death, turning them into doves. Thus, in the white-red-blue palette of decors of this collection, there is a whole legend that can be told to the guests of your home.

What lies behind the invitation to once again plunge into the atmosphere of the myths of Ancient Greece? The exploits and deeds of gods, demigods, heroes and monsters are well known to us all. And, of course, you will not frighten us by going into the labyrinth behind the Minotaur, if we, like Theseus, have in our hands a ball of thread given by Ariadne. However, the Arianna collection opens up another side of the myth, crossing gold and platinum threads so intricately that it is no longer possible to follow them in the endless play of weaving.
The author's interpretation of the Willow Pattern, a blue willow pattern based on magnification, curvature and detailing of this traditional Chinese-style decor, is widespread in the UK. His original solution has become the subject of widespread imitation. The Arianna collection is unique in the nature of its pattern, which can be combined in many different layouts.
