The problem with the installation of air conditioners in Moscow turned out to be especially urgent during the heat wave in the summer of 2010. In this regard, in mid-November 2010, the Moscow prosecutor's office proposed to the Moscow government to simplify the legislation regulating the installation of air conditioners on the facades of residential buildings. The cancellation of the approval of the procedure was announced in March 2011. However, at the end of 2014, the Moskomarkhitektura developed a draft resolution that would prohibit the installation of air conditioners on the facades of buildings. But the onset of the crisis led to the fact that the bill was postponed until better times. It should be understood that the problem of air conditioners remains and no one has forgotten about them, the time will come - and the bill will return.

Let's divide all the houses into two groups:

The first - old houses, which mainly build up the city center, therefore, the appearance of the historical part of the city depends on their appearance. It is very difficult to ban air conditioners, as it will become unbearable to live in a "hot" center. There are proposals to move air conditioners to the roof, however, how to lay pipes with freon there and where to place air conditioners on the roof without violating fire regulations is not entirely clear.

The second - modern apartment buildings, reconstructed and new commercial buildings that do not have specially designated areas for air conditioners in their project, and the installation of air conditioners is chaotic, which quickly spoils the impression of a beautiful facade.

Modern architects understand this problem and understand that it must be solved at the stage of designing the facade of the building, highlighting certain zones or applying technical solutions for installing air conditioners in order to achieve symmetry and integrity of the facade.

Installation on the balcony least of all damages the appearance of the building, but the noise from the air conditioner will be heard in the apartment, the air conditioner will take place on the balcony and, most importantly, being in a closed balcony or niche, the air conditioner will work worse than on an open street, since all the heat stay on the balcony.
