Within the framework of the Mosbuild-2016 exhibition, Hagemeister presented new clinker collections at its stand. Hagemeister is one of the largest clinker manufacturers in Germany, with a production volume of 150 million pieces per year. We spoke with Christian Hagemeister, Anastasia Landgraf (Hagemeister) and Kirill Zhanna Filatova, Corporate Account Manager.
New collections of clinker and tiles from Hagemeister
Anastasia Landgraf: At the stand there are several types of clinker, mainly light, milky, cream colors and all shades of gray and silver.
Both in Europe and in Russia in recent years there has been a tendency to gravitate towards Scandinavian motives, which were not so popular before as they are today. The delicate palette of these collections is distinguished by a raised surface with pinkish tan marks and irregularities.
Zhanna Filatova: The new collection is a Scandinavian style. Moreover, this style is presented both in clinker and in tiles. The task set by the architect for the color scheme can be accomplished in any case.
Solid yellow or brown shades of finishing material are a thing of the past today. Neither private developers nor architects like them, who always strive to create high-quality, modern and memorable objects. Another trend that we are talking about at the stand is the use of both the front and back sides of clinker, which makes the facades of the building more brutal and expressive.

In addition to the new collections, we are pleased to showcase the classics: the red classic clinker, which, while always remaining relevant, is modernized with a surface with a complex texture and expressive tan marks.
It does not get tired of surprising and loved by everyone after being used in the construction of the complex
"Garden Quarters" clinker Hagemeister Gent. It remains an extremely popular material today, not only in Moscow, but also in other regions of the country. New items from the Hagemeister Gent collection (Oxford FU, Oldenburg FU, Stade GT / FU, Werne, Östersund HS) and current projects with them can be viewed on the company's new website in Russian.
Hagemeister Gent in Novosibirsk: RC "Milkhouse"
Anastasia Landgraf:
Now we are supplying Hagemeister Gent to Novosibirsk, where the construction of a large residential complex "Milkhouse" is underway (the developer is SIBIRINVEST). This is a unique club-type residential complex located in the central part of the city. In its place there used to be a dairy factory, which determined the name of the new building. The complex consists of two modern buildings designed according to European standards. The architect and the customer chose not the classic Gent for this project, but an individual sorting, developed by our plant in due time for a number of Moscow objects. At the same time, on the facades, Gent is combined with light-colored clinker of Russian production.
Christian Hagemeister:
We have delivered Gent clinker from the heart of Germany to the heart of Siberia. And the material withstood long transportation and temperature drops with dignity, thanks to its special indicators of frost resistance, designed for difficult operating and climatic conditions in Russia.
In addition, for the Milkhouse complex, Hagemeister produced two different clinker formats: the Russian format 250 * 120 * 65 mm with a thickened front wall of 3 cm and the format 250 * 85 * 65 mm. Due to this, individual rows of masonry are, as it were, recessed into the depths of the wall, which creates an interesting relief of the facades.
Hagemeister Gent and Hagemeister Lubeck for Egodom RC
Zhanna Filatova:
One of the most interesting projects currently being implemented using clinker from the Hagemeister factories is a residential complex
"Egodom" by Sergey Skuratov. Its highlight is in the design sorting, which consists of two grades of clinker. The familiar Gent on the building facades is combined with the rich texture of the Hagemeister Lubeck variety. They are very different materials by their nature, with noticeably different surfaces and color saturation. But together they look amazing. Matte and even rough Gent enhances the beauty of a smooth Lubeck with a sheen.
Anastasia Landgraf:
Sergey Skuratov and Nikita Demidov personally came to the plant to select the appropriate material and compose the required sorting. For these purposes, a special holding structure is provided at the plant, which makes it possible to lay out a whole fragment of the facade from different grades of clinker. In this way, you can form a variety of mixes, create a visual model in order to assess the appearance of a future building. Sergey Skuratov spent the whole day choosing the right combination. But in the end, something amazing came out.

Another project that I would like to talk about is the Snegiri complex. This is a long project with a difficult fate, which has been revised several times by different authors. Initially, it was supposed to be solved in light colors using natural stone. Then a variant appeared, combining stone and light clinker on the facades. In the final version, instead of the light one, it was decided to use dark clinker, denoting strict and rigid verticals on the walls of buildings. Now the project is in the active stage of construction.
The Kirill company supplied amazing matte black clinker "Lava". This color is used for the first time in Russia. In addition, for the first time in the vastness of our country, a long clinker in the format 490 * 90 * 52 mm is used. The format is also used 490 * 115 * 52 and 240 * 115 * 52 with a thickened wall 4 cm. This is a novelty for the Russian market.
Anastasia Landgraf:
The representative of the customer of the project at the last exhibition "Mosbuild" asked us to pick up an absolutely black clinker. It should be noted here that it is quite difficult to achieve black in clinker, the line between brown and black is minimal. But the Hagemeister brand satisfied the client completely. As a result of a long search, comparison of cost and material capabilities, Hagemeister clinker was out of competition.
Zhanna Filatova:
A significant advantage, in addition to the pure color, was the non-standard clinker size. These are rare opportunities even for advanced brick industries in Europe.… Very few factories are capable of producing multi-format clinkers. For the Snegiri complex, Hagemeister produced three different formats: standard and with a thickened front wall. This technique allows you to use the front wall as an architectural element: the clinker is now extended, then recessed into the depth of the wall, forming a volumetric relief of the walls with pronounced decorative details.

Speech led by Sergei Tchoban. For this project was chosen clinker format 240 * 60 * 71, which our plant produces specifically for the Russian market … The complex is currently under construction, but the result of using clinker on the facades can already be assessed.

Archi.ru: Which projects using your clinker would you highlight in Germany?
Christian Hagemeister:
Perhaps the most interesting and important project is the Art and Creativity Center in Dortmund. This project includes the refurbishment and transformation of the former Dortmunder U brewery site. It is the largest clinker construction site in Europe to date. For the renovation of the buildings, a design sorting of clinkers from the Hagemeister plant was used.
Hagemeister technologies - for Russian standards and Russian architects
Archi.ru: Hagemeister is one of the few factories in Germany where Russian format clinker is produced. Tell us a little more about this.
Zhanna Filatova:
The classic German format NF, which is produced by all factories in Germany - 240 * 115 * 71. Russian format 250 * 120 * 65 is old German. There is a legend that the division into German and Russian formats took place after the First World War - at the same time when the size of the railway was divided: we had our own standard of railways, in Europe narrow-gauge railways became the norm. Something similar happened with clinker: the old format remained in Russia, the Germans switched to a new one. Today, the Hagemeister plant has fillers for clinkers of the Russian format in all colors. This is extremely important for Russian architects, because all facades in our country are calculated in accordance with the Russian format. And the opportunity to order imported clinker of the Russian format gives clear advantages with a huge choice of colors.
Archi.ru: In addition to the various sizes, the plant produces a very diverse range of figured clinker.
Zhanna Filatova:
Yes, and the possibilities are almost unlimited. The Hagemeister clinker is aerobatics. This is the only plant that makes almost any figured clinker, not only according to the standard fillers existing at the plant, but also to order, for a specific project. Of course, it is impossible to make clinker to the nearest second. This is a larger item than a piece of jewelry. But the manufacturer guarantees the accuracy to the degree.
Archi.ru: The Kirill company is the official supplier of Hagemeister clinker to Russia. How fruitful is this collaboration?
Zhanna Filatova:
