The winners of the UK's flagship architecture award, the 2016 Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) National Awards, were announced yesterday. The jury selected 46 buildings, which will be shortlisted for the Sterling Award for the best building of the year. RIBA President Jane Duncan noted the ever-increasing quality of architecture in the residential and educational sector. Most of the laureates are in these two categories. Among the winners are both large-scale projects with impressive investments, and small, but no less ambitious.
Below is a complete list of awarded buildings; the winner of the Sterling Prize will be announced in October.
