Another idea competition from the Indian project Archasm was dedicated to the creation of a modern, stimulating reading and long stay library in London's Hyde Park. In total, the organizers received 378 works from participants from around the world.
We publish the projects of the three winners.
First place
Hidden Scape
Seounghyun Cheon, Jihyeon Min, South Korea
In this project, the jury appreciated the delicate work with context. The library organically fits into the green environment, literally merges with it. Once inside, visitors will not feel like they are in a confined space, as an endless horizon will open up in front of them.
Second place
Air (Libre airy)
Agata Balikowska, Poland
The bulk of the library complex in this project is underground. Glass pavilions remain on the surface, where you can enjoy reading while contemplating the green surroundings.
Third place
Essence of reading
Miriana Kostova, Bernd Bartosz Jan Wroblewski, Daniel Lechler, Germany
The authors of the project moved away from the traditional understanding of the library as one building and created a series of secluded spaces of various capacities (for one reader or a company of 5-8 people). According to experts, in practice, this concept would need to be improved regarding the anti-vandal component.
