The four new pavilions of the fairgrounds on the outskirts of Dornbirn were the subject of an architectural competition in 2014. The project Marte. Marte, selected by the jury, assumed an extraordinary solution: instead of four buildings, the architects limited themselves to one, 170 meters long and almost seventy wide, sheathed with black corrugated board. To avoid monotony, rounded niches of deep red color were arranged on the longitudinal facades. The same tone - the authors call it carmine - marks the arch, the main entrance to the building. The red parts are also made of corrugated board.

The combination of red and black continues throughout the interior. The lobby is completely painted red, including a concrete arcade that separates the entrance area from the cafe. Pavilion 12 received the same colored interior, the other three were left in black. The walls of the building are made of concrete, the floors and their supporting structure are made of glued wood. Particular attention is paid to fire safety (there are 70 doors in the building) and acoustic comfort. The total area is 8250 m2, the budget was 28 million euros.
