A classic country house from the 90s looks like a multi-storey mansion, the architectural forms of which tend to the outline of a castle or palace. In those days, only a select few could afford construction, among whom there were many people from certain circles. Pretentious luxury was an integral part of their position in society.

From castles to minimalism

Today, the alpha status belongs to scientists and programmers. The architectural tastes of the intelligentsia turned out to be completely different - the suburbs were filled with low-rise buildings of the correct shape with pitched or flat roofs. The conditional shortage of living space is compensated by additional buildings.

The fashion for the use of natural materials, in particular wood, has returned. The same decking allows you to implement many interesting projects. In addition to the terraces themselves, these can be:

  • play areas for children;
  • covered and modifiable gazebos;
  • summer kitchens;
  • multifunctional recreation areas.

The advantage of using lumber is the speed of work. If various cement and adhesives require drying time, the wood can be worked without interruption. The connection of structural parts to each other is carried out using metal fasteners.

Forgotten materials in a new version

Decking is a great example of how the building materials industry is evolving. Thanks to some simple modifications, the wood product received parameters that completely changed the idea of wood and its properties:

  • the upper part of the board is covered with small longitudinal ribs designed to improve adhesion to the surface and remove excess moisture;
  • compensation slots were placed on the lower part, preventing the finished coating from deforming when wet;
  • features of production and installation provide for the application of protection against insects, ultraviolet light and bacteria.

From all of the above, we can conclude: what architecture will be in the future determines not only the needs of society, but also its weaknesses. Popularization of this or that form of culture changes our idea of the ideal home. The opportunity to save time, effort and money in one moment devalues high-tech materials in favor of proven and safe ones.
