This hill and the village of the same name there have been hosting ski jumping competitions since the late 19th century. In 2005, the existing structure there was recognized as not meeting international standards. The JDS bureau won in the architectural competition held soon after, and now the new springboard is ready to host the 2011 World Ski Championships.

The peculiarity of the project is the unification of all elements of the program in one volume. The springboard itself rises to a height of 58 m, its cantilever extension is 69 m (which made it possible to break the record of the old springboard even during test runs last year). The concrete structure is sheathed with aluminum sheets, and wind barriers are made of it and of glass. At the top of the trampoline, there is an observation deck and a Sky Lounge for tourists, from where views of Oslo, the fjord and the surrounding hills open.

Touching the ground, the springboard expands, turning into a spectacular amphitheater for spectators, also in this part there is a judging area, a press center, a royal box, a lobby, premises for athletes, and an entrance to the existing museum.
