This is an office building with a total area of 5800 m2 near Zvezda Square with its famous Arc de Triomphe. It is surrounded by apartment buildings from the second half of the 19th century, therefore, in order to harmonize the new building with the historical surroundings, it was decided to cover the glass curtain wall of the facade with a marble sunscreen.
This screen is a lightweight construction of two layers of glass and a very thin layer of highly patterned marble. The complex configuration of openings and filled parts resembles origami; in several sections of the facade, from two-dimensional it becomes three-dimensional, turning into a relief. In addition to protecting the interior from overheating, the screen also provides workers (there are about 300) with protection from views from the street.
Along with the main building facing the boulevard, Gotran designed another one, in the depths of the block: there are cafes for employees, meeting rooms and other premises that require more silence and privacy. Both parts of the building are connected by two landscaped courtyards. There is also a rooftop garden that shares its space with a tree-lined promenade terrace.
