On July 16, the UNK project bureau gathered guests to open a summer veranda, which the architects added to their own office on Luzhnetskaya embankment in just four days.

The new veranda is a spacious area with wooden flooring and a stepped podium, where there are poufs, a mobile bar and a presentation screen. The author of this elegant building is the architect Vladimir Garanin, who is also responsible for the development of a spectacular parametric grid that "wraps around" the building of the main office of the bureau. The new space is planned to be used primarily for the internal needs of the company - holding meetings of employees and meetings with partners, negotiations with customers. However, in the evenings, the three-meter screen can also serve for broadcasting movies, and the veranda itself, during free hours, is ideal for informal meetings and intimate parties, the first of which was the presentation.

The evening dedicated to the UNK project began with the presentation of the latest projects of the company, which the architects presented to the audience right in the fresh air. Among them are the recently won competition for the project of the second stage of the ImperiaTower complex in the Moscow City complex, and the project for Skolkovo, and low-rise economy-class buildings in Ivanteevka, which will soon be certified according to one of the eco-standards. In total, according to the estimates of the architects, this year the total area of all completed projects has exceeded 2.5 million square meters.

Speaking to the guests, the co-founders of the bureau, Yuliy Borisov and Yulia Tryaskina, generally talked a lot about the use of innovative technologies - in the opinion of architects, they are the future of design. However, the most important thing, according to UNK project, is not even what you design, but how you do it. “A successful final result can be achieved only when all the links of one chain work harmoniously and competently,” says Yuliy Borisov. Consolidation of experience and knowledge with the largest foreign architectural bureaus, clarity, rigidity and responsibility in fulfilling the assigned tasks - these are the qualities that have allowed this company to achieve success for 15 years. And, of course, modernity and mobility - Yuliy Borisov secretly told the Archi.ru portal that his entire office is controlled from an iPhone, from orders to workflow, which allows him to successfully carry out projects from anywhere in the world.

After the presentation of the projects, the guests had a fascinating tour of the UNK project office, which won awards from various architectural competitions. Walking through this modern office space, it's hard to imagine that it was created in an old hangar of a metalworking workshop with a rotten roof and broken glass, and in just 4 months. In general, the reconstruction of industrial facilities and their adaptation to new functions is one of the bureau's strengths, and the office on Luzhnetskaya embankment is an excellent confirmation of this. From an engineering and technological point of view, the UNK project office is also of undoubted interest. During the implementation of this project, the architects used unique industrial lighting with ideal color rendering and maximum energy efficiency, wooden windows with an automated climate control system, acoustic wall covering made of straw with cement, special noise-absorbing telephone booths and much more. Externally, this building is a cube covered with a mesh with an intricate pattern in the style of parametric architecture, which houses a spacious openspace with clear logistics, developed on the principle of an industrial conveyor, where the project goes from receiving an order to the release of a finished architectural product. As Yuliy Borisov admits, the main task in creating the interior was a deliberate departure from any styles.“So that employees are not distracted from the creative work process,” says the architect.

However, this does not mean that the office has no lounge areas. Firstly, right above the openspace there is a mezzanine floor with poufs and a plasma screen for games, and secondly, now it is complemented by the same summer veranda, which became the main character of the evening. “If we consider our office as a city, then the summer veranda is a park, a place where you can go out to relax, take a break from work, get some air and, of course, generate new ideas for a project. It was created in 7 days, and I even managed to plant grapes here,”says Yuliy Borisov with pleasure.

The architects of the UNK project hope that the appearance on the territory of the former rocket engine plant, first of their office, and now also of a stylish comfortable summer veranda made of natural wood, will become a generator of a positive transformation of its entire territory.
