Roomy cannot be called an ordinary workshop: apart from the design itself (the architect and partner Jani Prunnila is responsible for this area), the firm acts as a developer and investor. For example, Roomy acquired a building in the courtyard of 13 Uudenmaankatu Street, built in 1888, where a public sauna was originally located, and its employees lived on the upper floors, and at its own expense turned it into a house with 11 luxury apartments.
After the commissioning of the object, some apartments were sold to private owners, and the rest are now being rented out to businessmen, diplomats and other guests of Helsinki who stayed in the city for a long time.
Uudenmaankatu is home to trendy bars, restaurants, art galleries, antiques and design shops. However, even on Friday evening, the U13 residential complex is quiet: it is reliably protected from noise by the building in the spirit of neoclassicism facing the street.
All U13 apartments have level differences that add intrigue to the interior; it also allows you to more efficiently delineate the space (the area of dwellings varies from 51 to 122 m2). Some apartments have their own courtyards, atriums and terraces, but even if they do not exist, contact with nature will be provided by a small "bed" near the kitchen sink, where you can grow edible herbs or flowers.
