The plan for this mixed-use block with pedestrian streets and squares was developed under the direction of Architecten Cie. The complex, designed by Mecanoo, combines housing with a multifunctional educational center: the lower levels of the building house a school, gymnasium, preschool playrooms, a kindergarten and a community center. The entrances to them are arranged from Osdorper Ban Street. The transparent facades of the school are surrounded by a ribbon with white prints made by the artist Elspeth Picaar based on children's drawings and texts. This decor stands out in the strict geometric solution of the facades, faced with bricks of different shades. The designers of the Makkink & Bey studio tried to diversify the school interiors with details that activate children's perception, for example, they actively introduced a juicy green color into them.
On the north side, the building descends from 6 to 3 floors: here it will be possible to organically attach to it a neighboring complex, which is still only planned. Here Mecanoo has arranged a large courtyard for schoolchildren and local residents: it can be clearly seen through the main glass entrance of the school. There are apartments on the top four floors, of which 16 of the 51 are designed for people with disabilities. On the quieter north side, there are 21 single-family houses. All housing has deep comfortable balconies, and from the side of the street - far protruding "canisters" of balconies.
