The old football stadium Pasarón in the Galician city of Pontevedra was located on the opposite bank of the Leres River from the center. The area adjacent to it has long demanded reconstruction, and in order to free up space for new squares and squares around the arena, it was decided to rebuild it.
However, it was not possible to temporarily transfer matches to any other stadium, so construction work was carried out in stages, in parallel with the holding of sports competitions.
The new stadium is designed for 11,000 spectators: they are provided with stands located in two tiers, and their lower part serves as a "base" for the arena. The stands are covered with a translucent canopy, which provides them with even lighting.
A two-level "street" with all the necessary infrastructure is arranged along the perimeter of the building, visually connected both with the field and with the space of the city. Its glazed volumes connect the stadium with the smaller scale of the adjacent development. Also, its harsh appearance, due to, among other things, tough cost savings, is enlivened by the rounded openings in the concrete walls and ceilings.
