We have already talked about Gudou Plaza, an office and business center built in Sukhum according to the project of St. Petersburg architects Andrey Ukolov and Ekaterina Osipova with the assistance of the State Enterprise "Sukhgorproekt"). At the end of December, the jury of the Zodchestvo festival review-competition awarded him with a silver diploma in the Social and Cultural Object nomination (see the report on the Zodchestvo awards ceremony here). This is not the first award of the complex, which, of course, has become a noticeable and at the same time delicate addition to the development of the historical center of the capital of Abkhazia - the building has already been awarded the Grand Prix of the Ural Festival "White Tower-2013".
To achieve the effect of unobtrusive shading, easy up to the dissolution of a multi-storey building in the rays of the southern sun, in a word, the authors of the project managed to organically fit into the landscape of the "white city of Sukhum", not least thanks to the use of curtain facades with structural glazing, in the development and production of which they took part company AS Tatprof LLC. The facade structure made of aluminum of the TP-50300 series with EK-89 shutters is made taking into account the seismic loads of the region. The curtain façade also conceals the stiffening diaphragms necessary for the building's earthquake resistance, and in subtropical climates helps to protect offices from the southern sun.
