“Post-industrial quarters are often a difficult topic for urban planning of architecture: their unfavorable position in relation to the city center and public transport stops, the deplorable state of infrastructure, the high cost of preserving ancient monuments, and, like a hanging ax, the threat of their demolition as the optimal solution to all problems. Most investors treat these large areas as building plots with demolition buildings, but few see the enormous potential and unique value-added architecture that would later distinguish this project amid thousands of anonymous investments. Modern intervention in the historical fabrics of the city is necessary Only the introduction of new life into a monument of antiquity can allow it to survive. Projects such as the Hotel Andels in ód have triggered an avalanche of change, showing an opportunity to revitalize the entire quarter, providing inspiration to subsequent investors, architects and city officials. In this way and working in this direction, we will be able to preserve ancient monuments and save our heritage, without it we become completely deprived of the foundation, trying to start all over again and thinking that we will do it better”. - Wojciech Poplavsky, OP ARCHITEKTEN
