It is not the first time that the administration of Yekaterinburg has held the Small Architectural Forms competition. Projects that are relevant to the city are always announced as a topic. The previous season, for example, was dedicated to the preparation for the World Cup, and in 2018 the task for the participants was to develop a design concept for small architectural forms for the Green Grove Park, which is undergoing a large-scale reconstruction. The prize fund of the competition was 200,000 rubles: it was distributed among three awarded teams.
The first place went to the project of the creative association AM-ARCHITECT. The authors - Alexander Melnichenko and Ekaterina Karetina - preferred the use of round and plastic shapes that subtly complement the natural landscape.

The architects sought to create modern, vibrant and recognizable objects that visitors to the park would be happy to demonstrate on social networks, thus increasing its popularity among citizens. Particular attention is paid to lighting: instead of the classic vertical lanterns-masts - landscape lighting, which ensures the integration of man-made objects into the natural environment.

The second place went to the "ArKhiTek" bureau. The authors proposed to create a recreation area with reduced copies of recognizable buildings of Yekaterinburg in the Green Grove.
Finally, in third place is the construction company "Everest", which presented the concept of small architectural forms made of wood in the "primitive" style.
The winning project is planned to be implemented. You can learn more about the competition on the website of the Yekaterinburg administration.
