Country residence "Vympel 3" was built in 2013 by the architectural company Portner Architects in the Moscow region. Plot with a total area of over 2000 sq. m, is located on the 13th km of the Novorizhskoe highway in the small village of Vympel. The pine forest and fresh air inspired the authors to create a house that is interesting in its architecture and arousing respect for the quality of its execution, which fully corresponds to its loud name.
Portner Architects has extensive experience in the design and implementation of country houses. And if you look at all the projects created over the years of the workshop's existence, then you can see a lot in common - a recognizable author's handwriting, gravitation towards a certain modern style with multiple and complex intersections of volumes and planes. But as architects always emphasize, for them the most important thing in any project is the quality and durability of the building, and in addition, a delicate attitude to the environment.
Pennant 3 fully meets these criteria. Clamped between the trunks of tall pines and spruces, in plan it has a simple L-shaped shape, which, growing into a voluminous two-story structure, becomes noticeably more complicated and deformed due to the displacement of individual blocks, cantilever projections and terraces. The contours of the plan arose taking into account the trees on the site, which both future residents and designers wanted to preserve as much as possible. As a result, the main volume of the building was shifted into the interior of the site. A line of even trunks with bright green bushy caps came to the fore. You can't immediately see the house itself through such a curtain from a distance, especially since its facades are designed in restrained natural colors.
The volumetric-spatial solution was also dictated by the functional content of the residential building. Inside it, three spacious bedrooms should have been conveniently and rationally arranged, a large dining room combined with a living room, overlooking the forest and access to the open air, a bright study with a library. It was decided to hide the pool overlooking the terrace with sun loungers in the depths of the site, away from the road, since the walls enclosing its bowl are made almost entirely of glass. Access to the terraces from the dining room and pool is ensured through the use of Solarlux special folding glass walls. Next to the pool there is a spa area and a Russian bath with a plunge pool. All this variety of rooms is tied into a chain of smoothly flowing spaces that interact with each other and with the landscape outside the window. It is no coincidence that so many glass planes appear on the facades: the interiors, made by OS Design, open towards the natural environment, and the sunlight, meandering between the trees, still penetrates the building, providing the necessary natural light. In addition, the energy-saving double-glazed windows used in the project always keep a comfortable temperature inside: in the winter the house is warm, and in the summer it is cool.
Almost every room in this house has access to either a terrace or a balcony. It is the numerous protruding balconies and loggias with invisible glass railing that complicate the volume and make it extremely multi-layered. The same role, not forgetting about functional justification, is played by the canopy over the parking lot, which, turning around the corner, continues on the main extended facade of the house, the glass canopy over the central entrance, supported by a beautiful wooden lattice of lamellas, and the glass cube of the bedroom hanging in the air on snow-white cushion of a concrete slab. A cube that stands out against the brickwork hangs over a wooded deck-deck. In its shade, there is a quiet seating area with outdoor sofas, armchairs and a barbecue area.
The subdivisions are horizontally supported and balanced by pronounced vertical lines. Take at least the vertical rhythm of lamellas on separate fragments of the facade or a wooden wall-crossbar that grows from the body of the building, separating the entrance area from the terrace with a barbecue. Diverse volumes alternate, splitting one long building into several small houses - each with its own face, but at the same time - in absolute harmony with the environment.
In general, the house is visually divided into several separate blocks, solved in different materials. So, a luscious wooden volume, sewn up with lamellas of heat-treated mountain ash of a rich warm shade, is replaced by a light stone wall with a slightly noticeable blurred pattern. It is a German Jurassic marbled limestone adjacent to austere dark brick facades. Clinker brick from
of the Kirill company, supplied directly from the Dutch CRH plant, does not lose in any way next to natural stone and wood. On the contrary, the selected noble palette with overflows, changing shades and resulting beautiful ripples balances and correctly shades both wood and stone.
Analogs of this brand of brick, available today on the Russian market, are clinker bricks - brown variegated, smooth and partly - in contrast - grooved, the Milton collection of the Daas Baksteen factory (Holland) and the Boston GT collection of the Hagemeister factory (Germany). Both brands are manufactured to Qbricks quality standard. And Hagemeister also offers an extensive selection of shaped clinker, giving architects almost unlimited creative possibilities.
