The obituary of MARCHI begins with the words: "A Great Man has passed away." Ilya Georgievich Lezhava (1935-11-03-28.09.2018), Doctor of Architecture, Head of the Department of Urban Planning of the Moscow Architectural Institute, brought up a lot of people. But many others are well known in the NER group as the closest associate of Alexei Gutnov, co-author of the futuristic trend in urbanism of the 1960s, recognized in the world and still relevant today.
He is also considered the "father of paper architecture", who first applied the term to the fantasy designs of the 1980s, a vibrant movement of young (then) architects that were very valuable to our history. Not everyone likes the term, but it is firmly entrenched. So, NER, paper architecture, 250 graduate students, among the students are Sergey Skuratov, Mikhail Khazanov, Pavel Andreev, Vladislav Kirpichev.
