“I'm going to present details that are an integral part of the interior and at the same time play an important practical role,” - this is how the architect began his speech and for an hour he enthusiastically talked about those spatial, economic and creative tasks that can be successfully solved by extraordinary architectural details and interior. Sergey Estrin is convinced that one of the main tasks of any detail is to complicate the space, to bring an interesting visual intrigue into it. The speaker demonstrated how exactly one or several elements precisely found "in place" can transform an office or residential interior with the help of a large-scale photo selection, in which the works of the workshop were presented in a variety of guises - from plans and sections to visualizations and photographs of already inhabited premises. …

So, for example, in the office center on 1st Brestskaya "Architectural workshop of Sergei Estrin" had to design the entrance area, and the customer in the terms of reference made a bet on the brightness and non-triviality of this design. “In fact, we had to come up with something so that no one could understand what it is and how it was done,” the architect admitted and showed the audience the result of his creative search. The limited area of the entrance group was decorated with snow-white "ropes" woven together, giving the space incredible dynamism. “The result is a clean, bright, understandable image - an image of frantic energy breaking free …” - Sergey Estrin sums up, adding that this is the best fit for the image of a rapidly developing company that has moved into this office.

The atrium of the office complex on Bolshaya Ordynka was supplemented with several ramps, furnished with furniture made according to the author's sketches and decorated with living trees planted in special hanging forms. Thanks to these solutions, the space, according to Sergey Estrin, “has become multi-layered,” its layout has become more complicated with the help of functional decorative elements, and the main decoration is rightfully considered to be a glass grand piano placed in the center of the composition, invariably attracting the attention of visitors.

But in the design of the eye clinic of the medical corporation "Johnson and Johnson", the architects, on the contrary, were entirely proceeding from the functional purpose of the building. The appearance of the room was to be associated with the work of ophthalmologists and ophthalmologists, and therefore elements resembling eyelids and eyelashes in their shape were chosen to visualize this idea.

The audience was also interested in the interiors of the new synagogue building on Bolshaya Bronnaya, also designed taking into account the whole set of tasks, aesthetic and practical, set for the authors of the project. First of all, it was necessary to make the interior spaces as accessible as possible for natural light, and Sergey Estrin solved this problem by designing a huge ceiling lamp in the form of a Magendovid. And the light yellow scale of the walls should evoke associations with the sands of the desert, along which Moses led his people for forty years.

Sergey Estrin also spoke about the specifics of working on residential interiors that his workshop creates from time to time. According to the architect, unlike office spaces, it is possible to work on apartments and penthouses for longer, and a small margin of time allows, in turn, to experiment a lot - to the mutual delight of authors and customers. That is why, Estrin admitted, the workshop, as a rule, will test all new technologies for the production of decorative elements on residential premises, and only then use the successfully proven innovations in the design of business centers and offices.

Concluding his speech, Sergey Estrin showed the audience several of his sketches and sketches, which he completed at different times. Images of real-life European landscapes and futuristic buildings built only in his imagination caused thunderous applause from the audience. And the architect, thanking the audience for such a warm reaction, admitted that it is the constant drawing lessons that give him a lot of opportunities for self-development and creativity, including coming up with all kinds of interior details. "From a professional perspective, drawing for an architect is like fitness, which trains not only the arm, but also the brain."
