In the very center of Paris, not far from the Eiffel Tower, surrounded by numerous parks and gardens, two new residential buildings have appeared, united by a green courtyard. The plot allocated for the project is located in an almost bourgeois area: calm, discreet, with a very well-built infrastructure. The facades of the buildings correspond to this image, one of which faces the Boulevard Grenelle, the other - the street Fremikour.
The bureau has already formed certain principles in the design of residential buildings: energy efficiency, a combination of ordinary and social housing, cozy green courtyards and spacious terraces - all this is reflected in the new project.
Great efforts are being made to achieve low energy consumption in Paris, one of which is the creation of a strategic "climate plan". Grenelle fully meets its requirements, consuming less than 50 kWh / m2 per year.
The residential complex includes 35 apartments, designed to provide through ventilation and natural light throughout the day through a double exposure. Each apartment has a south-facing loggia: due to the play of shapes, these balconies do not block the sun from each other. The first floors are reserved for commercial purposes, the buildings are also equipped with underground parking and a common roof terrace.
Four facades have been designed in the same way, but each has its own characteristics. They are enveloped in a network of horizontal plates, which makes the walls, rather simple in terms of plasticity and volumes, more "active". Glass was used to decorate the façade overlooking Rue Fremikour; for the courtyard - wood and anodized aluminum panels. From the side of the boulevard, the building is finished with glazed tiles.
Examples like Grenelle make one think that sometimes the idea and execution certainly triumph over the architectural expressiveness and the author's ego. But such a policy of delicate integration is undoubtedly yielding results.
