About the Park of the Conquerors of Space near Saratov, in the place where Yuri Gagarin landed in 1961, they started talking in August 2019, the initiative to create it in honor of the 60th anniversary of the first manned space flight belongs to the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin area. In March 2020, Prime Minister Mishustin allocated 874 million rubles for the construction from the reserve fund of the Russian Federation. The project was presented in November, and on the day an on-line presentation was launched, which “takes readers back to 1961 and restores the complete chronology of events that took place from April 10 to 12, 1961. The goal of the project is to immerse a person in the atmosphere of the feat of Yuri Gagarin and the first manned flight into space. The project website was launched, composed mainly of professionally designed posts on Instagram and VKontakte; promised that the park will be visible from space.

The project is being developed by the Center for Urban Studies of the Faculty of Economics of Moscow State University, which is headed by Sergei Kapkov, according to the concept of Adrian Göse.

At the landing site of Gagarin, next to the Ternovka River, five kilometers from here flowing into the Volga, already

there is a "Gagarin Field" and a commemorative stele - a reduced copy of the monument to the conquerors of space at VDNKh, erected in 1965, the monument to Gagarin in 1981 and the Cosmonauts Alley in 2011.

All these monuments are planned to be restored, adding new objects, including the 108 minutes alley in honor of the time of Gagarin's flight over the planet: “on the route looped around the stele, key quotes from Gagarin's communications with the Earth will be applied.”

About 170 MAFs, more than 800 lighting elements, more than 5.4 km of bicycle and pedestrian paths, more than 1,700 new trees are planned. The park is scheduled to open in 2021.
