The assignment was a project for a housing and office complex located at the border of the Vauban district, a residential area of eco-friendly buildings erected on the site of a French military base and named after the great military engineer who, among other things, supervised the construction of the fortress in Freiburg when the city was under the rule of France in the 17th century.

Thus, the architects had to first of all coordinate their project with the typical development of the area, which is dominated by wood and bright colors, as well as the principles of "green architecture". According to the jury, they perfectly coped with the role of the building as a "gate" or even a "keystone" of "Vauban", primarily due to the "dynamics and liveliness" of their project, which reflected the "variety and quality" of buildings in the area.

It includes two buildings with a height of 4 and 5 floors, with different outlines of floors, which should naturally fit the new building into the heterogeneous fabric of the surrounding buildings. On three sides, the facades of the building are faced with wooden panels, and on the south there are deep loggias, closed from the outside by a "screen" of vertically stretched cables, which in the future will become a support for climbing plants.
