The building is located in the “New Town of Linan” and should become its recognizable symbol, while emphasizing its connection with shipping and international maritime trade. For this purpose, a curvilinear shape mounted on the main volume of the building, reminiscent of two sails filled with wind, serves. Inside is the main exhibition hall of the museum, dedicated to historical exhibits.

A wide and long main staircase leads to it, setting the visitor to a leisurely tour of the museum. On the opposite side, the building faces the bank of the canal, which should also emphasize its "sea" purpose: the architects compare their creation with an anchored ship.
